Lisa Mitchell - Current Events

This class is for pastel artists wanting to improve their drawing and painting skills in an encouraging, relaxing and fun-filled small group setting with plenty of individual attention. Some drawing skills are helpful. New to the medium of pastel? Beginners are welcome!

Come and join this ongoing pastel class. You will become an “artistic problem solver” as you take on drawing and painting challenges created to strengthen your knowledge of design principle techniques. Pastel is a vibrant medium that offers the artist an array of expressive possibilities. You will experiment with different surfaces, under-painting techniques and subject matter. Now and then, weather permitting the class will venture outdoors into my garden or nearby rural locations to paint en plein air. We will discuss working from direct observation as well as creating your own photographic reference material.

Starting this fall on October 1, 2010 we will meet each Friday afternoon from 10 am til 1 pm in my home studio. Four week session, $140.00. You can study for one session or sign up for another 4 weeks. If you miss a class you may come in at another time without any additional fees. EVENT INFORMATION

As you walk through town, watch plein air artists paint outdoors. All over town you'll see artists painting scenes of Annapolis from Thursday morning through Saturday night.
